Welcome to the our first Game Jam

The aim of the game jam is to get your creative juices flowing and have some fun. It is open to developers of all levels and ages, and we hope to see entries from people of all abilities.

Game Jam’s are a great opportunity to spend a short amount of time trying to stretch you comfort zone. This can be either by trying a new game development technique, getting better at an existing game development technique, try a new game engine, making your first game or even just complete the game in the time limit.

If you are new to games development I would suggest keeping it simple. An easy way to get started is using Construct 2 which has a free version and plenty of tutorials.

How to participate

  1. Create an account on here and signup to the Game Jam
  2. Get your game theme - 3 random words from here
  3. Make your game (20 hours)*
  4. Submit it before July 31, 2017

* Sticking to traditional game jam rules you would normally have a maximum amount of time you can spend making your game. Because we are doing this over the web it will have to be an honesty system. If you are new to game development you might spend a little more time getting your head around the software/game engine you are using. If you are a pro, then 20 hours should be more than enough.

It would be great if you share your progress with us on either Facebook or Twitter using #IndieJam.

What do I win?

We haven’t decided on prizes, to be honest this is the first Game Jam we have arranged and we don’t know how successful it will be.

If we get a lot of people signup then I am sure we will get some sponsorship for some prizes.

Keep checking here for updates or follow us on Facebook or Twitter to keep up to date.
